At Small Town Montessori School we follow the curriculum developed by Dr. Maria Montessori allowing the child to set freer their personality and inner self. We also promote self-discipline, confidence and a mutual respect for themselves and their environment. In our Pre-school program we teach our children not to compete with others but strive for their own personal best.

What is the difference between Montessori and Traditional Education?

Montessori education is based on the belief that children are individuals with different strengths, needs, likes and learning styles. Montessori education is differentiated instruction. In more simple terms, Montessorians disagree with the idea that all children learn in the same way at the same time of their life.

Each Family is unique and has unique needs, it may be necessary for students to come to school early, stay later than regular dismissal, or both.  Extended Care meets the individual needs of each family both before and after school with experienced staff from 7:00 am – 8:30 am and 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

I have sent both of my kids here over the past 5 years and both of them have loved it. The facility is clean, the food is healthy, and the learning is exceptional. We get daily updates and photos through the HiMama App so we have an idea of what goes on during their day. My kids have grown very attached to the teachers at Small Town and always seem to be having so much fun when I come to pick them up at the end of the day. The French and music classes are a hit with them as well and my son looks forward to it every week! The kids have been well-prepared for Kindergarten from an educational standpoint, and have developed so many skills to help them become more independent as they transition into elementary school.

There are no words that we can use to describe how truly amazing Small Town Montessori School is. The teachers are incredibly caring and they care for every child as if they are their own. The programming is top notch, with each child doing engaging learning activities everyday, while also having fun. They also have a music and french teacher who comes in to offer extra programming at no cost to parents, which our daughter loves! The classrooms are beautiful and everything is always clean. The food is great, with a different menu each week with lots of options.

All of the teachers are amazing. The relief I feel every day knowing my child is in good hands. And the transition went so well. I see huge improvements in her speech and social skills. Her eyes light up with a huge smile everyday. There are even days where she does not want to go home. The difference has been night and day, and I still can’t believe it.
